I'll overwhelm 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round fight which will be streamed live on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the pair came face-to-face to promote the upcoming bout.

Ex two-time world boxing king Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Boxer's Mentality

"I'm going to injure his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will seriously aim to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of those words, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically recognized for his theatrics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Paul rather attacked ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "a joke" after the Cameroonian rejected a bout proposal.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK rival Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua refused to speak negatively about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.

Financial Success

Still, the inexperienced fighter is still one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, frequently receiving massive earnings.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in round four or five and claimed he would stop the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul said.

Physical Disparity

As the two fighters met for the usual stare-down, with their size difference evident, it highlighted just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is truly proceeding.
